Tracy Craig, Principal

Background: Tracy Craig, the firm's principal, has over 15 years of professional experience in designing and executing public involvement programs in support of large-scale master planning programs, environmental remediation projects and redevelopment/construction projects. She has been involved in the approval processes for over 50 plus public and private sector projects. She has worked as a public participation specialist for the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, a communications manager for a top 500 environmental engineering and planning firm, and as a writer for a large daily newspaper.

Strengths: Ms. Craig specializes in the creation of community outreach programs that engage and involve communities and meet the clients' objectives. She has successfully conducted a variety of public outreach activities including: planning and facilitating community planning charettes and visioning sessions; creating and presenting highly technical project information in a manner that facilitates understanding of project issues through the use of newsletters, flyers, postcards, websites, and presentations; interfacing with local and regional media and creating press packets and site tours; and briefing local officials and key stakeholders.

Marie Rainwater, Senior Facilitator

Background: Ms. Rainwater has twelve years of professional experience as a facilitator and mediator dedicated to moving projects forward and successfully resolving complex project issues between multiple stakeholders. Ms. Rainwater firmly believes in the facilitation process and although at times it can be "messy" she remains positive that projects that successfully involve the community will be better and more creative. Ms. Rainwater has worked for an environmental engineering firm and various non-profit organizations.

Strengths: Ms. Rainwater has provided facilitation services and ongoing consultation with various clients in the areas of team dynamics, communications strategies, alternative dispute resolution, complex problem solving, decision-making, and community relations. Ms. Rainwater has helped project teams negotiate complex environmental policy issues and develop effective conflict management strategies. She has facilitated issues resolution meetings involving senior management within federal, state and local regulatory agencies to identify and assess environmental issues and develop collaborative and innovative solutions.

Lora Barrett, Associate

Background: Ms. Barrett has four years of experience conducting public participation activities in support of planning and environmental cleanup projects. She has worked as a public participation specialist for the California Department of Toxic Substances Control, as a lead trainer for the Sacramento Mediation Center, and as a Family and Dependency Court Mediator for Siskiyou County Superior Court.

Strengths: Ms. Barrett is a skilled communicator and mediator who specializes in conflict resolution and consensus building. While with DTSC, Ms. Barrett was assigned to high-profile, and often controversial investigation and remediation projects throughout the state. She has facilitated controversial public meetings, prepared community surveys, community profiles and public participation plans for a variety of projects, as well as conducted community meetings and hearings.
