Buchanan Field Airport Master Plan - Concord, California

Contra Costa County Public Works Department

Craig Communications has been retained for three years to design and create a communications program to involve the local community in the Buchanan Field Airport master planning process and educate the larger community of Contra Costa County about the master plan. Tasks include:

Buchanan Field

  • Organize and facilitation of a quarterly steering committee with 60 members, a 20 member technical committee and quarterly public meetings
  • Creation of presentation materials for all steering committee and public meetings
  • Creation and distribution of quarterly project postcards
  • Creation, production and distribution of a quarterly general newsletter
  • Set-up and maintenance of an interactive website
  • Organization of a speakers bureau to provide information about the master plan to community organizations;
  • Briefings of local elected officials and business associations
  • Organization and execution of project workshops, open houses and site tours
  • Creation of hand-outs for distribution at public events
  • Preparation of a short video explaining the master plan process for distribution to local cable channels and business organizations
  • Maintain positive press relations and issue regular press releases.
